Manage destinations

🧠Context

Destinations are the foundation of the Caladeo platform configuration. All products, steps, leads, and trips are linked to one or more destinations.

A destination can represent a country, a region, a city, or any other relevant area, depending on your commercial offering. You are free to adapt this structure to fit your business needs.

🎯 Goal

Define, create, and manage a destination hierarchy (parent and child destinations) according to your agency’s organization and the way you structure your travel catalog.

🧭 Where can you find this feature?

To create, edit, or delete destinations, go to the Destinations tab. There you will find the list of existing destinations and be able to manage them easily.

If the Destinations tab does not appear, it means you do not have the required permissions to manage destinations. In this case, contact a team member with administrator rights so they can adjust your permissions.

🛠️ Step by step

Follow these steps to create or edit a destination:

  1. Open the Destinations tab in the Catalog section of the menu.
  2. Select an existing destination to edit it, or click New destination to create a new one.
  3. Fill in the destination fields:
    • Name: name of the destination.
    • Parent: select a parent destination if you want to link this destination to an existing hierarchy.
    • Country: choose the country where the destination is located (e.g. Spain for the destination Barcelona).
  4. Save your changes.
  5. Return to the destination list and check that the destination has been successfully created or updated.

⚠️ Good to know

  • An incorrect hierarchy can make searches less intuitive (e.g. city without a country; city and country without a region).
  • Avoid duplicating destinations with different spellings.
  • You can create multiple levels of parent/child hierarchy (e.g. Italy > Tuscany > Florence).
