Manage steps

Context

Steps allow you to structure a travel package by breaking it down into key elements. A step can correspond to a day in a program, a flight, accommodation or transportation.

Each step is associated with a destination, a theme and a step type. It serves as a basis for quickly adjusting your packages (adding, removing or modifying elements). Clear step structuring ensures itinerary readability and facilitates the creation of customized packages.

Objective

Create and modify steps to clearly structure your travel packages and facilitate their rapid updating, including for the most complex itineraries.

Where to find this feature?

To create, modify or delete steps, go to the Steps tab, accessible from the Catalog section of the menu.

If the Steps tab does not appear, this means you do not have the necessary rights to manage steps. In this case, contact the person on your team who has administrator rights so they can adjust your permissions.

Step-by-step

Here are the steps to create or modify a step:

1. Open the Steps tab in the Catalog section of the menu.
2. Click on New step or select an existing step.
3. Fill in the Step information :
   • Step type (Accommodation, Program, etc.)
   • Associated destination
   • Internal name : name displayed in the Caladeo application
   • Public name : name displayed on your Proposals and travel offers
4. Save.

Once the Step is created, you will have the ability to :

• add additional information depending on the Step type selected (day itinerary, Step description, highlights, etc.)
• associate products to the Step (highly recommended for automatic budgeting of Quotes)

Good to know

• Create your Steps in a way that allows you to easily reuse them when modifying travel Quotes.
• Make sure the destination is correctly linked to ensure filter consistency.
• Don’t forget to associate products with Steps so your Quotes are automatically budgeted based on the number of participants and travel dates.
