Context
Destinations form the foundation of the Caladeo platform configuration. All products, steps, opportunities and trips are associated with one or more destinations.
A destination can represent a country, a region, a city or any other relevant area, depending on your commercial offer. You are free to adapt this division to your activity.
Objective
Define, create and manage a hierarchy of destinations (parent destinations and child destinations) based on your agency’s organization and the way you structure your travel catalog.
Where to find this feature?
To create, modify or delete destinations, go to the Destinations tab. You will find the list of existing destinations and can easily manage them.
If the Destinations tab does not appear, this means you do not have the necessary rights to manage destinations. In this case, contact the person on your team with administrator rights so they can adjust your permissions.
Step-by-step
Here are the steps to create or modify a destination:
- Open the Destinations tab in the Catalog section of the menu.
- Select an existing destination to modify it or click on New destination to create one.
- Fill in the destination fields:
- Name : name of the destination.
- Parent : select a parent destination if you wish to attach this destination to an existing hierarchy.
- Country : choose the country in which the destination is located (example: Spain for the Barcelona destination).
- Save your changes.
- Return to the destination list and verify that the destination has been created or updated.
Good to know
- Poor hierarchy can make search less intuitive (e.g. : city without country ; city and country without the region).
- Avoid duplicating a destination with different spelling.
- It is possible to create multiple levels of parent/child hierarchy (example: Italy > Tuscany > Florence).
